Enrollment

Interested in Dual Enrollment to earn college credits while you're in high school? Here are the steps to enroll.

Students interested in Dual Enrollment are able to take courses throughout 9th-12th grade. The first course 9th grade students can take is GUI-47 in the fall at the soonest. Starting spring of 9th grade through 12th grade, students can take any course they meet the prerequisites for.

STEP 1: General Information about Dual Enrollment

Check out all the tabs on this website for information about the program including course offerings and the Course Descriptions. You will want to ensure you are enrolling into courses you are interested in and eligible for (meet the prerequisites). Consider your current workload and extra-curriculars prior to adding on a Dual Enrollment course.

To decide what to take, work with your school counselor! Your counselor can work with you to put together a plan that is a mixture of Dual Enrollment and AP courses (must pass AP exam with 3 or higher) to meet the college general education CalGETC requirement.

Additionally, if you have Dual Enrollment specific questions, email dualenrollment@norcocollege.edu and ERHSDualEnrollment@cnusd.k12.ca.us.

STEP 2: Submit a CCC Apply Norco College Application

Returning students: If you are currently in a Dual Enrollment class this term, you can skip to STEP 4. If you skipped a fall or spring term, you will need submit a new application.

New students: Head to CCCApply to create an account. Start an application for the term you want to apply to. Utilize your personal email rather than your CNUSD email (however both will work).

For assistance with the application, check out this step-by-step video

For additional help, you can contact Ms. Goerlinger in the Remind app or email dualenrollment@norcocollege.edu and ERHSDualEnrollment@cnusd.k12.ca.us.

STEP 3: Welcome Emails

If this is the first time you have applied for Norco College, you'll receive an immediate email right after you submit your application to confirm the submission (save your application confirmation number). Following this, you will receive a welcome email in three (3) business days after submitting your application. This will include your new Norco College Student ID and email address. Disregard the information/steps under "Enroll in Classes" as that applies to non-high school students. You should also receive your MyPortal login information including a temporary password. Congrats! You're officially a college student.

If you do not receive your Welcome email that includes your Norco College Student ID and email address, go ahead and move onto the next steps. Norco College will go back and connect an ID number to you. You'll just want to make sure you get this information before the start of term as you'll need your login for CANVAS.

Log in to your Norco College email and MyPortal and save your login information. This is where you will check your unofficial transcripts, requesting official transcripts for colleges/universities during 12th grade, etc.

If you are having problems with your email, need to reset your password, etc. contact dualenrollment@norcocollege.edu.  You may need to submit a screenshot of your CCCApply application and your application confirmation number to them.

STEP 4: Create a DualEnroll Account & Select Your Courses

Students who are new to Dual Enrollment will need to create a DualEnroll account. Returning students can bypass this step.

Course selection for registration, parent consent (one time only), and high school approval is done through here. Here is a quick guide on DualEnroll

Students can select Online (via CANVAS online) or High School (in person) only for Dual Enrollment. College Campus is Concurrent Enrollment only and requires additional steps for select students choosing specific courses. Students interested in Concurrent Enrollment must follow the steps HERE.

Students will select one to two classes in DualEnroll. If you select more than two courses, you will be placed into a maximum of two courses.

10th-12th grade students: Can select GUI and an additional course if the workload is manageable.

9th grade students: Can select GUI in-person or online only during the Fall term or any elective they qualify for in the subsequent terms.

Review the course offerings under the term and the CalGETC requirements to decide on the appropriate course.
