Courses for Parents/Carers to Support Children and Young People Struggling with Anxiety

Growing numbers of children are experiencing anxiety - which can affect their mood, relationships,

behaviour and feelings about school. Parents/carers want to make it right for them, but it can be hard

to know how to respond and provide effective support.

The Adult Education Hub offers online courses: Supporting a Young Person with Anxiety, and

Building a Young Person’s Resilience. Both consider what children need most when anxiety takes

hold, and offer practical strategies to help the young person manage anxious thinking and build their

self-esteem.

Here is what some parents have said:

“Listened to our concerns and gave us some great advice and tools.”

“I found it really helpful – and reassuring.”

“Gave practical tips and reassurance. I feel better able to support my child with their anxiety.”

“Thank you for this course. It’s made a big difference.”

Courses [2 x 90 minute online sessions] are free to parents on a low income or receiving means-

tested benefits. A fee of £15 per course applies otherwise.
