IB Assessment Policies
West Charlotte High School Assessment Policy for International Baccalaureate
There is a shared philosophy among the educators at West Charlotte High School that every student can be successful! Teachers practice giving assessment to measure where students are in their learning and to determine how to adjust instruction to help students progress to their highest potential of success. The strategies, pacing and timeline teachers use to assess students and evaluate students directly informs instructional planning, teaching, and student learning. Therefore, teachers use a variety of differentiated informative and formative practices to monitor student progress and they adjust instruction to improve achievement. Assessment is managed through a collaborative partnership among students, teachers, and parents/guardians. Teachers plan collaboratively among subject and grade level Professional Learning Communities to develop effective assessments that place students at the center of their learning .
