The International Baccalaureate Organization has officially authorized West Charlotte High School as an IB Middle Years Program for grades 9-10. The integration of the IB Learner Profile, IB Standards and the IB Philosophy begins in the MYP Programme for students in grades 9-10 and continues in The IB Diploma Program, authorized in 2005 for students in grades 11-12.

Criteria for MYP

The Middle Years Program encompasses grades 9 and 10 in high school. Students are required to:

• take at least 6 IB MYP courses each year,

• complete Service as Action activities, and

• complete a Personal Project.
