World language study results in fluent or near-fluent students
IB DP exam grades are based in part on internal assessments, projects and papers which are completed under teacher supervision. These represent 20% of the overall score on average and may help weaker test-takers.
GPAs of IB students tend to be higher as two-year courses earn quality points for each year.
Many Middle Years Program (MYP) courses in grades 9 & 10 are offered at honors level and thus earn quality points.
IB seems to be an advantage for college entrance and scholarships, although most evidence is anecdotal and relatively few research studies have been done on this. See below for recent West Charlotte results.
