Atrium Health: PATCH Program
The PATCH Program as sponsored by Atrium Health is an eight-week opportunity for CMS high school students. Participants learn how to conduct and present scientific research, shadow healthcare professionals and engage in other personal and professional development experiences. Eligibility requirements are as follows:
· Current CMS high school sophomores (10th graders)
· Students who qualify for free/reduced lunches as part of the National School Lunch Program
· Students who are able to attend all eight Saturdays on which PATCH program sessions will be held and who are willing to participate in additional personal and professional opportunities throughout their junior and senior year of high school. Projected program dates are listed on the PATCH Program website.

Through Student Leaders®, Bank of America recognizes high school students who lead and serve in their own communities and beyond. We connect Student Leaders to tools and resources to help make communities better.
As a Student Leader, you will:
Work as a paid intern at a local nonprofit for eight weeks
Attend the weeklong Student Leaders Summit in Washington, D.C.*
Develop leadership and career skills
Connect with like-minded students from your own community and across the country
In-person events will be in line with local and national guidelines around gatherings and travel and may be subject to change.
• Current juniors or seniors in high school • Legally authorized to work in the Unites States without sponsorship through the end of September • Be able to participate in an 8‐week paid internship at a local nonprofit/charitable organization and work 35 hours a week • Be able to participate in a week‐long Student Leadership Summit in Washington, DC (July) (All expenses paid as part of Student Leaders. This week will be part of your 8‐ week experience.) • Be a student in good standing at your school
NC Youth Leadership Assembly (Government)- Deadline to apply is January
The North Carolina Youth Legislative Assembly (YLA) is a state program that continues to shape young leaders and provide them with a hands-on approach to government.
The YLA program replicates a legislative atmosphere of geographic diversity similar to our legislature. In doing so, the YLA program builds, encourages, and strengthens character traits that equip students to take leadership roles in civic activities in their communities.
In March/April, approximately 200 North Carolina high school students will convene at the NC General Assembly for YLA.

Y Achievers (YMCA)-Y Achievers, a national YMCA program, serves students from varying academic levels in pursuit of high educational and career goals. Y Achievers helps teens improve academic performance, develop a positive sense of self, build character, explore diverse college and career options plus interact with professionals who serve as role models.

Studio 345: Free camps for linking art and science (rising 9th grade/rising 10th and 12th grade)

"This summer at Studio 345, students will learn about the relationships between art and science. Whether exploring sound waves in music, learning the chemistry behind photography or finding inspiration from nature, participants will see how their creativity can be linked to science. Rising 10th through 12th grade students will choose two classes from Visual Art, Music/Podcasting, Film/Podcasting and Digital Art/Graphic Design.
