David W. Butler High School is a proud charter of The National Technical Honor Society.
The mission of the National Technical Honor Society is to honor student achievement and leadership, promote educational excellence, and enhance career opportunities for the NTHS membership.
David W. Butler High School is among 3,700 charter schools and colleges with more than 50,000 students enrolled in vocational and technical education each year.
Membership Requirements:
Open to students who are enrolled in a Career and Technical Education Program or JROTC (junior and senior)
Have successfully completed (A/B) at least two CTE or JROTC courses prior to induction and is currently enrolled in a CTE course or JROTC course (for academic year)
Have a minimum Unweighted GPA of 3.0
Good attendance (have not missed more than 10 days per school year)
Has not received disciplinary action by an administrator
Demonstrates critical workplace values, honesty, technical skills, teamwork, loyalty, initiative, leadership, and commitment to personal and professional excellence.
Once inducted, members are required to maintain the above criteria in addition to:
*Attend meetings. A schedule of dates will be given to all new members.
*Members can be dropped from the National Technical Honor Society if a unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher is not maintained and attendance criteria is not met (please see above).
*Honor Cords can be worn during graduation and can bought from NTHS.org (purple and white)
