McClintock Middle School has partnered with Educational Talent Search (Trio) to support students in grades 6, 7, and 8 through academic, career, and financial counseling. Selected students participate in workshops addressing study skills, time management, career exploration, course selection, and more. Participants will maintain their membership throughout middle school and high school. Additionally, members of the small groups are eligible to receive free tutoring at St. John's Church on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6:30pm. No appointments are necessary.

Explorers Survey (13+ years old)
To obtain a work permit (Youth Employment Certificate), visit www.NCLabor.com, Youth Work Permits.
1. Scroll down and click Youth Employment Certificate at the bottom in the center of the screen.
2. Complete the application online. You will need the employer's address, county of employment, and ABC permit status.
3. Print Certificate.
4. Obtain parent and student signature. You do not need to get anyone else to sign this form.
5. Return the form to the employer.
EmpowHERment, Inc. is a local non-profit organization that works to connect girls in grades 6-12 with female leaders in Charlotte. The Duke University Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP) is a nonprofit organization that has served over three million academically talented students in grades 4–12 since it was founded in 1980. TIP helps gifted students assess the extent of their academic abilities with above-grade-level testing, recognizes them for their achievements, and provides them with a variety of enrichment benefits as well as accelerated face-to-face and online educational programs.
