Kindermourn is offering a Grief Support Group as a community response. Many students have loss family members and close relatives. For students who have lost family members and need help grieving here is a community resource that can support your student virtually. The Trevor Project: founded in 1998 by the creators of the Academy Award®-winning short film TREVOR, The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning (LGBTQ) young people under 25.
GLSEN: works to ensure that LGBTQ students are able to learn and grow in a school environment free from bullying and harassment. Together we can transform our nation's schools into the safe and affirming environment all youth deserve.
PFLAF Charlotte: To support families, allies and people who are LGBTQ, to educate ourselves and others about challenges facing LGBTQ individuals, and to advocate in our communities to build a more equitable future for all.
TimeOut Youth (TOY): Time Out Youth Center offers support, advocacy, and opportunities for personal development and social interaction to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) youth ages 11-20.

Charlotte Mecklenburg Library is a great resource in our communities. The Independence Branch located at 6000 Conference Dr, Charlotte, NC 28212 is our area CMS connector. The branch host many parent and student workshops filled with support and other community resources.
The Department of Health and Human Services manages the delivery of health- and human-related services for all North Carolinians, especially our most vulnerable citizens – children, elderly, disabled and low-income families. The Department works closely with health care professionals, community leaders and advocacy groups; local, state and federal entities; and many other stakeholders to make this happen.
