During your Freshman Year

  • Start preparing for college now! Talk to your parents about future plans. Begin to seriously think about what college you would like to attend and what career path interests you.

  • Review College entrance requirements. You want to start planning your high school courses, extra curricular activities, and volunteer work to maximize your potential of being admitted to your ideal College

  • Take Challenging Courses (AP and Honors) to prepare you for college and your career plans. Honors and AP courses earn extra quality points be realistic and careful when choosing your classes. You want to earn strong grades to earn a high GPA (Grade Point Average).

  • Attend school every day and prepare daily for your classes so that you can be successful.

  • Keep a record of you extra curricular activities and volunteer work; this will come in handy when you begin applying for college and scholarships.
