Remember the importance of proper positioning for educational activities at home and your student’s need for regular positioning changes throughout the day. Be sure to keep a close check on your student’s skin to watch for signs of increased pressure. *This is especially important now during virtual learning when students spend so much time on their screens during school time.
Wheelchair positioning: It is extremely important that students are seated in their wheelchairs properly to minimize deformities and to maximize function
Once the wheelchair is positioned at a table or desk, ensure safety by: Locking the brakes on a manual chair and turning power off on a power wheelchair

*Students may tolerate 15 minutes up to an hour and a half. Be sure to supervise your child for signs of discomfort
