These are some fun and easy ways to work on sitting balance, reaching, and higher level challenging balance activities that you can do at home.
*Use items you have around the house - towels, strings, cushions, boxes, tape, blankets
*Use items that interest your child - puzzles, cars, balls, dolls
*Be Creative and don't stress - there's no 'perfect' obstacle course! Just be creative to challenge your child in different ways.
*Meet your child at their level, but challenge them as well. Some children will not be able to do the obstacle courses; instead use sitting balance exercises to challenge them. Some children need higher level activities; challenge them in a variety of ways, but be sure they are safe! SAFETY FIRST!

Have different shape paths - walk forward, sideways, backward, 'walk the line', push a ball along the line, hop, etc.
Couch cushions are GREAT to challenge balance!
Use puzzle pieces, paper, game piece - ie: go through course, get a puzzle piece, bring it back to the beginning and repeat for all pieces
Move OUTSIDE!
Use a variety of toys, furniture, surfaces (stone, hills) to create fun obstacle courses.
