Description

The EE&C cell organised a seminar on ‘Funding options & Scholarships for Indian Students in Overseas Education on 25th September 2018 in the Civil AV Hall. The seminar was conducted by India’s largest Ed Tech company, BYJU’s. The session was targeted towards all fifth semester students. The session focussed on all career options post engineering, and broadened the students’ mindset about these options.

Summary

The main speaker was Mr Abhishek Gupta, resume builder and higher education expert from BYJU’s. He has secured 99th percentile in competitive exams like GRE, GMAT and CAT.He spoke about the confusion faced by engg students between placements, higher education and entrepreneurship. He also provided the list of scholarships available for higher education. The next speaker,Santhosh explained different options available for 5th semester students for pursuing placements, masters and competitive exams. Mr Alen, Ms Betsy and Ms Swati helped students understand the process of improving their existing profile for their higher studies/placement options, and the challenges and practical probability of success in the GATE examination. MrShaik Shah Rukh gave an insight on the MiM (Master's in Management) program, and the variety of options for pursuing a management degree. The next speaker, Ms Smriti, explained the funding options abroad and scholarship options along with their criteria.Mr Abhishek Gupta also enumerated the variety of newly emerged programs in leading business universities and their eligibility requirements. He mentioned the benefits of an MiM degree, highlighting the enhanced job position and salary for those with a degree in Engineering and Management. He also provided an insight into the numerous universities and countries which have MiM programmes. The session was extremely helpful for all students, including those looking towards placements, higher education and entrepreneurship. Overall, the seminar was interactive and informative, and it was enjoyed by the attendees.
