The EE&C cell organized an awareness session on ‘Study Abroad Admission Guidance’ on 15 September 2018 in the Civil AV Hall. The program started by Ms.Heather Wallick with admission process to the top tier USA or Global schools which was supported by Mr. Prasanth, Wallick global Consulting. In addition, the session ended with a motivational talk by Placement Director Mr. Lakshman Malla. The session was attended by second, third and fourth-year students, who were looking towards a foreign education.
The awareness session on ‘Study Abroad Admission Guidance’ provided essential information on the process to gain admission to the best universities in the world. The speakers were Ms.Heather Wallick (former Assistant Director of Admissions and Financial Aid at Harvard Law School) and Mr. Prasanth, Wallick global Consulting. The speakers discussed the various aspects of acquiring admission abroad, such as the GRE, TOEFL and IELTS examinations, profile building, premier institutions and their eligibility criteria, courses, etc. They also spoke about financing foreign education, such as loans, scholarships, and grants. The talk had a PowerPoint presentation, which displayed the details of the academic requirements, applications, and expenses. She concluded the session by elaborating on the whole process of admission into a premier institution and answered numerous questions about her experience. Moreover, she provided an insight into the admission procedure in the Harvard School and the importance of planning in advance.
The session was extremely helpful as it provided details on studying abroad and also clarified the idea of foreign education. The students were able to clear their doubts and understand the process of applying to an international institution. Overall, the session was informative and interactive.
