Fulani braids have been trending. A style with a complex and unique pattern of braids/cornrows on your head, Fulani braids are beautiful, and can be an easy style to do. Furthermore, these braids also represent a set of cultural values pertaining to black history. Fulani braids originated in the Sahel region of West Africa and made their way to America via the slave trade during the 19th century.
Depending on the length and thickness of your hair, Fulani braids can range from $100-$150 for an average of 8 hours braiding a person’s hair. They are relatively easy to do and are also easy to maintain. You can even decorate your Fulani braids with gold or accessories, string, and shells. So the next time you go to the hair salon, think about Fulani braids as a hairstyle that is both en vogue and representative of African culture.
