Q: IS A PERMISSION SLIP REQUIRED FOR EVERY TRIP?
A: YES
- Permission slips are ONLINE and a link will be sent out via Remind for you to complete the process each time.
- Every chaperone must also mark "I wish to volunteer" and be sure to sign their child's permission form.
Q: WILL THEY RIDE THE BUS?
A: YES - FOR MOST TRIPS
- This is a great practice for students who do not regularly ride the bus. We have staff & volunteers on the bus for safety.
A: YES- Only if you have completed:
- A volunteer packet in the office at least 1 week prior to the field trip date
- Check "I would like to chaperone" while completing your student’s permission slip and enter your insurance info.
- If the chaperone is not the parent/guardian, a separate permission slip marked "I would like to volunteer" with their insurance information and signature is required.
Q: DO CHAPERONES RIDE THE BUS?
A: YES
- Cleared chaperones (above) ride the bus with the class to assist in supervision.
Q: CAN I BRING MY OTHER CHILD(REN)?
A: NOT IF YOU ARE A CHAPERONE:
- Children not enrolled in the class may not ride the bus with us to go to field trips.
- As a parent volunteer you will be responsible for assisting us in keeping all of the students safe.
- Some field trips have limited group sizes and age limits.
- On some of our field trips (such as at the zoo) it is possible to drive to the destination with your other child and pay separately, and then visit alongside us during the trip. However, you will not be an official chaperone for the trip, and will not be able to take your child off on your own without signing them out of our supervision. Please see Teacher Julie for more information about this possibility.
