Your child spends part of their day in our classroom with other special education students. They also spend part of their day playing and interacting with preschool students from the general education preschool class at Century. The part of the day that we spend with the general education students is called "mainstreaming". The general education preschool class is in session every morning of the week. We eat breakfast in the cafeteria, and play on the playground with these students every day that we are here at school. Also, some students will spend some large group and center time in the General ed. Preschool class after recess. (We start this a few weeks into the school year.) Our students will always have a teacher and/or aides from our classroom with them at all times during any mainstreaming opportunities.
