Trips

Term 3 Week 5

Last Friday we walked down to the church steps to break a world record for the Cancer Society on Daffodil Day. We planted daffodil windmills in the ground, they needed more than 400 windmills planted to break the record. Once we planted our windmills in the grass we went and got a photo in front of the big blow up daffodil. Then we walked back to school. It was a lovely Spring day for a walk into our community.

Term 2 Week 10

We walked up to the Nelson Boys College field before lunch to watch the big haka that the First 15 performed for their rugby final.

Term 2 Week Six

This week the Middle Syndicate were lucky enough to go to the Founders Book Fair. We even got to ride there and back in a bus! When we got there we had some lunch then we split into 3 groups - 1 group went into the children's book room to buy books, another group went with Mrs Barris to get a tour of how they sort through the books & have a look at some non-fiction books and the last group got to walk down the street with all the old buildings and do some sketching. Then we rotated around so we all got a turn at each activity. It was lots of fun being able to work out how much books costs and how much money we had to spend.

Term 2 Week Three

On Friday we went to the museum, we looked at Leonardo Da Vinci's inventions. We split up into groups and learned different things at the same time. We drew pictures and learned about bikes back in the old days. We learned about Leonardo Da Vinci's flying machines. It was amazing, we had a great time at the museum.

Term 2 Week Two

This week room 17 went to the Suter Art Gallery and we looked at tricks and patterns in art. We found out that far away things look smaller than things that are closer to you. You can draw more than one place at once. We took pictures of us far away and someone holding us. We had to draw a picture of some art.
