Our scene is about young school students getting stuck in Gundagai because of Morgan’s google maps leading them in the wrong direction. With storm and thunder, the young kids have to figure out how to get to Broome for their excursion. Almost out of hope, the students remember how Virlda told them to call out Yari’s name if they were ever in trouble. All of a sudden an eastern water dragon called Nharrang appears and teaches them about the language in Gundagi - Wiradjuri. He tells the story about Yarri, an Aboriginal man who saved a lot of people from the great flood of Gundagai in 1852. They learn about Yarri's heroism through the scene's song, “Listen” (written by Abi Fetter). The students still need to get to Broome though, and they can’t trust google maps anymore, so Nharrang points them in the right direction and they head off to see (the real) Yari.

The songwriting team attended workshops with Bridget A’Beckett, and brainstormed melodic and lyric ideas that Bridget then took away and transformed into songs.
