Scientific Name: Citrus × meyeri
The Meyer Lemon tree was originally brought from China and now is found in a multitude of states, mainly California.
Above we have a picture of a Meyer lemon tree. And an image of young seedlings of a Meyer lemon tree.
Meyer lemon trees only grow between 15-20 feet tall, while other lemon trees reach heights of 20 feet, and can live to be older than 100 years old!!
FUN FACT!! Did you know that Christopher Columbus brought some of the first Meyer lemon seeds to the Americas?
Since the Meyer lemon fruits are so acidic they can be used for cleaning kitchen utensils. brushing rusty utensils with a combo of the juice of the Meyer lemon can get rid of rust.
