About our Program
The MEDICAL SCIENCES MAGNET Program was established at Charles R. Drew High School in 2019. We invite you to Become a part of the Charles R. Drew High School Medical Science Magnet Program!
Our program boasts a rigorous Program of Study. In addition to the completion of required electives, the Charles R. Drew High School Medical Sciences Magnet Program offers 12 Advanced Placement Courses and 5 Honors Courses to all students accepted into the Medical Magnet School Program.
In addition to these course offerings, students will complete pathways in Allied Health and Sports Medicine.

Program requirements
1st priority: 9th grade
Successful completion of Algebra 1 and Physical Science with an 80 or higher
Grade of B or higher in all core classes in 8th grade
Discipline infractions may impact final acceptance into the program
2nd Priority: 9th grade
Grade of B or higher in all Core classes in 8th Grade
Discipline infractions may impact final acceptance into the program
Program requirements
1st priority: 10th grade
Successful completion of Algebra I, Physical Science, 9th Grade Literature
and 1 Social Studies with an 85 or higher cumulative average (no C’s)
Successful completion of Algebra II or Geometry & Biology with an 85 or higher
Discipline infractions may impact final acceptance into the program
2nd Priority – 10th Grade
Successful completion of Algebra I, Physical Science, 9th Grade
Literature and 1 Social Studies with an 85 or higher cumulative average (no C’s)
