Course Description
Elementary music is an exploration of sound and movement. Students will have an opportunity to explore the elements of music (e.g. melody, harmony, rhythm), and the history and cultural significance of music through creating, performing and listening/responding. There will be opportunities to sing, move and play Orff instruments, rhythm instruments, recorders, Ukuleles, Guitars, and more. Music covered in this class will be of various music genres and historical periods, associated with a variety of cultures and ethnicities.

Andrew Seuferer is the General Music Teacher at Holmes Elementary where he teaches K-5 general music class, Sonic Sounds (4th-5th Choir/Show Choir), Intro to Piano, Intro to Guitar, the 5th Grade Musical, Prickly Planet Protectors Sustainability club, and serves as yearbook advisor & editor. He received his Bachelors in Vocal Music Education from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2017. He received his Masters in Vocal & General Music Education from Kent State University in 2022. He has been a participant and a director of choirs, show choirs, musicals, one act plays, general music courses, and much more. His primary music instructors have included: Wes Hansmeyer, Boyd Bacon, and Dr. William Wyman. Andrew, and his wife Hannah, enjoy spending time with their children: Jasper, Henry, & Eloise.
