The Clarkston Family Farm is a great and awesome place you can see the barn animals or go to the green house but the cool thing is that science center.
#04
We had a wonderful and educational field trip to the Clarkston Family Farm. The students were incredibly engaged, and we had a blast exploring everything the farm had to offer. We saw pigs, chickens, and goats; learned about predators and prey; and discovered the importance of plants and decomposition. We even got to become scientists for a little while, investigating microinvertebrates from the pond. But don't just take my word for it! Your students are excited to share their thinking and observations below!
Also, be sure to check out the highlight reel.
First my group began at the plant station. What we did first is we listened to a small presentation about the difference between dirt and soil. Then we went to a different table to make our paper holder wether we wanted to plant a chives or mint plant believe it or not they both were edible so a lot of people ate them me and a couple friends did not like them but some other people probably did like them because everyone is different.
When we got to the farm we got out the bus and walked up to the people and got our groups (just reminding you this is for the field trip we didn’t go there with our parents so your experience may be different.)
After that all groups were assigned a station with people that work on the farm. Our first station was station 1. At station 1 we got to learn about soil and flowers then, we got to smell mint and chives, we even got to eat the mint leaves. Then we made our own pots out of paper and put soil in them. After that we put either mint or chives in it then gave it to our teacher to bring to the class.
Next we went to station 2. At station 2 we walked down a trail to a muddy place with trees all around. Next to us were bins with water, plants, and creatures in it. Next to those bins were sheets showing what the creatures were in it. The people at this station explained that we were gonna get those creatures out of it into water in another bin and chart down what we got (Me and Carter got 2 salamanders but Kennedi named one of ours then stole him while saying she was the one who named it. I will never forget what you did Kennedi.)
We had snack before station 3.
At station 3 we saw animals. I walked in the first smaller station of station 3 and it was a bunny safe haven. My group went in and we were assigned our bunnies. My group got this white and brown one that was sooo soft, but the only downside was he was shy and hid under his house. Then lucky us, because the teachers gave us little grass that they love to eat and we lured him out to pet him. Guess what, HE ATE ALL OF OUR GRASS AND RAN BACK BEHIND HIS HOUSE. I was so mad about it because he was really cute, BUT the teacher moved our group to the next bunny. This bunny was Cinna bun (which I thought was adorable) and Cinna bun hid but we could still pet her and we did. Her fur was ruff but pettable, she was really cute just sitting down
At the beginning got to go to our first station and we got some paper cups and we put soil in them and put peppermint and some other stuff and we went to our second station and tried to catch Salamanders and other animals in the containers. Then we went to are third Station and Pated horses, donkeys, bunnies and Chickens Then we went to our fourth station and played a game it was a lot of fun. My favorite part of the trip is that we got to play some games and we got to run around and play.
The “clarkston family farm” the “clarkston family farm” is a hands on farm (but its really a science lab) and they have fun games and cute animals.
When we first arrived we went and sat down under the pavilion and put on color cordended bandanas and went over rules and all the fun activities and after that we went of to do all the fun activities and after all the fun we went back to the pavilion and put are bandanas away and tackled about are favorite things and all the stuff we did and then we sang a song and went on the bus to go back to school and we had lots of fun.
My favorite thing was the green house because we get to make paper planters and we put plants in them and take them home and the reason that they are paper is that you can put them in the ground and the paper will disintegrate (paper is bio-degradable).
My field trip was to the family farm and what I did there was I got to make a plant. I got to see and feed bunnies, pony and chickens and pigs because why not and I got to play a game called oh deer and I got to see pond bugs and pond animals. My favorite part of the field trip was feeding the animals because the chickens were crowding me because I had food for them and I got to feed the goats but the goats were full from the other groups and I got to feed the bunnies.
At the start we were dividing teams to go and see sections first we got to see the animals first at the start we fed donkeys grass we got to see rabbit We also got to feed Some grass. We got to feed chickens some seeds. But the pig can not have some seeds. Because the pigs might mistake your hand as food. After that we did a game where else talking about resources and deers where you have to get the resources what you have on your neck so if it says water you pick the person who is water After that you get another deer on your team and it tells you if you're going to extinct or not at the last round. We got to grow plants.
so i saw a lot of things. and what i saw that was the most cool is the fish and i did not see that much because the whole time i was looking at the fish i mean that was the coolest thing that i have seen so ya. also i think that it was alright because i mean there were not that much things to do there. also i think that one of the best things I saw was this rock i looked so cool and ya. plus i threw the rock in the creek so ya.
also i think that the things that were the best were the fish or the big birds they flew right next to me and lanndon and cash and penny. furthermore the bus ride was pretty cool and got a bit sleepy you know. also i think that the thing that i rember is the big big frog i mean that thing was huge like huge. also i think that the inside thing was pretty lame i mean being inside is pretty much the worst thing that can happen to me so i just didt like it. but the place was great and that is less school.
We went to the Clarkston Family Farm for our field trip. The Clarkston Family Farm is a farm where a bunch of families go to have some family time! It's a great place you should go check it out today!
We did lots of things like first we learned about the difference between soil and dirt and what soil needs. Then we made pots out of paper and planted either mint or something called chives. The next thing we did was go to the pond and we looked for pond creatures with no back bone and I found a salamander and I named him Timothy. Then we had a snack! Then we went to our next station and it was animals. First we saw 2 goats then we went to saw the bunnies. We also saw a mini pony and a donkey and then we saw baby pigs and chickens! Our last station was called “oh deer” and we had flash cards that said water another one that said food, one that said space, one that said shelter and if you picked the same card as some one they become a deer too but if you can’t find someone with the same flash card you die and become a resource.
My favorite part was the animals because they were really soft and cute and they were so tiny.
The place we went to was the Clarkston family farm and the clarkston is like a farm with plants and fish and different animals.
When i arrived i was happy and i participated in every activity towards the end we got plants and got to do a fun game called oh dear it was pretty fun but it was so fun i wanted to stay there longer because we got to see a lot of animals like piglets the dad pig and the mom pig and we got to learn more science words and stuff like that
The wet lands was my favorite because we got two salamanders and a water scorpion.
