Tips for Success

Dear fifth grader, Kon'nichiwa!!!!!!!! I am here to talk to you about… HELP!!!!! Help on homework, help on your math books, help on what books to read, and help on anything else!!!!!

The first thing that I have to provide to you is homework. I know everybody hates it, and I also know that Mr. Phillips said that there would be not very much homework. But he gives out two math homeworks a week and more other stuff if you do not finish your work in school. I would suggest doing your school work while you are in school. It is not only helpful, but it saves you a hassle later. And when you are at home and your mom asks, “where is all of your homework?” you can say, “don’t worry mom, Eva fixed that!” except you will probably still have math homework in your bag. So when your mom says, “what’s this then?” You can say, ”My homework.” and do it.

One of the types of homework that Mr. Phillips loves is fraction homework. Sometimes if it is a long practice piece of homework or a just for fun over spring break. He will give you JR’s for finishing all of it. If you ever can not figure out the answer do not get stressed. First of all we would love to help when we volunteer in the class. Second, you can always ask a parent or an older sibling, and third, you can always ask Mr. P!!!!!

Another thing that you may need help with is what to read. I get stuck on this a lot. And so do my classmates. Well we have fixed that for you long long ago. In the website that you are reading this off of you will find the school and study links tab. Go there and under language arts you will find the “what should you read next?” “Mr. G’s “MUST READ” recommendations” and “fifth grade favorites” plus his fifth graders, my present year, made a tab called “what to read!” and that has many books that we enjoy for you to enjoy too!!!

MATH BOOKS!!!!! DUH, DUH, DUHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! They may seem scary at first, but once you get the hang of it, it is as easy as a piece of homework. The pages that you do every day are pages that are related to what you learned about in the lesson before. So you have to pay attention to what you are learning about, or else, you will get stuck and not know anything about what the page is about or even for!!!!! So I would suggest paying attention, and listening to everything! Now I am quite the doodler myself, I drew big things in my notebook this year, a cyborg, and a bunch of screaming stick figures, and STEVES!!!! But I still had to pay attention. And if I didn’t, let’s just say, I didn’t finish my math book page that day…

And that is it!!!!! If you need help with anything else, you can ask Mr. P, classmates, parents, siblings, or friends!

But the thing is, you can always get,

Help for success.
