Principles to Actions webpage (from National Council of Teachers of Mathematics)
This site is a collection of resources and support for the Mathematics Teaching Practices created by the math consultants of the KY Special Education Cooperative Network.
Principles to Actions: Ensuring Mathematical Succuess for All (NCTM, 2014) "describes the conditions, structures, and policies that must exist for all students to learn [mathematics]." p. vii.
It identifies 3 big buckets for consideration:
Effective Teaching and Learning (including the 8 Mathematics Teaching Practices)
Essential Elements
Taking Action
Be sure to check out the Principles to Actions Toolkit on the webpageabove. Note: Non-NCTM member may access some of the resources, while NCTM members may access all the resources.
The KY Mathematics Practice Profile operationalizes what each of the Effective Mathematics Teaching Practices looks like in the classroom. It provides a list of what it means to be "Accomplished" for each MTP.
