This years standards focus on Chemistry and Physics, and the overlap between, but we will cover numerous aspects of Science as well. The beginning of the year we'll be in "Science Bootcamp" learning the basics of the scientific process and lab work. From there we go small exploring atoms, molecules and particles and their physical properties that make our world tick. From there we'll explore the discoveries of Newton and the Laws that govern motion. Finally we start exploring the living systems of our earth and how genetic code helps life thrive on Earth. I look forward to a great year of exploration and discovery of how our world works.
Observing chemical reactions to determine what's in the "Mystery Mixture"
Creating chemical reactions in the lab to actually see the signs of a chemical reaction.
Engineering their own rocket fuel to see who can get the highest bottle rocket.
The smile you get when you finally make it to the top of San Juan Hill like Mormon pioneers of the past.
The sun's setting on the San Juan River
Learning how to properly use the lab equipment and metric system by measuring volume.
Understanding about the local ecosystem is much deeper when your actually learning in the local ecosystem.
