Hotel Accomodation
The school provides hotel accommodation from 5 days (single) up to 10 days (shared) upon arrival in Singapore.
Moving Allowance
CIS will provide a moving allowance at the beginning of the contract to cover the bulk of the expense of moving involves transporting household goods to the new host country, including packing and unpacking, as well as the management of the shipping process.
For those staff using a moving company to relocate your items please be reminded to ship ' door -door' rather than 'door to port'. If you ship 'door-port' you will be personally responsible to deal with the port authorities. For shipments 'door-door', initially you can use the school's address to complete the paperwork.
New staff may use their respective campus address for the shipping paperwork. The boxes can arrive on campus and you can transport them to your house once the rental has been settled.
An IPA (In-Principal Approval) Letter is required for shipping companies to process your shipment to Singapore. All employment pass applications holders will receive an IPA letter from the Ministry of Manpower when the work pass is approved.
Initial Airfare to Singapore
Travel costs are only applicable to those on Overseas Contracts.
CIS has a corporate relationship with a large Singapore based travel agency and will book the initial flights (economy/tourist class) from a major international airport near the teacher's home of record to Singapore at the beginning of the contract. Please do not book your initial flights on your own unless special permission is provided by the Head of School and/or Head of HR.
Usually, teachers will depart for Singapore in mid-late July. All new teaching staff will start at the end of July.
Annual Airfare Assistance
Annual Airfare Assistance will be payable to teachers on or close to the last working day of March of the relevant years.
Airfare for the spouse and each child accompanying the TEACHER is 50% of the cost as per above, however, the provision of Airfare Assistance shall apply to children and spouse only if the children and spouse have valid dependent passes with dependence on the teacher. Further, the Airfare Assistance does not apply to the spouse if that person has a valid employment pass or work permit, etc.
