Wednesday On-campus Meeting(s)

• Praise the Lord for sending many burdened saints in both Cupertino & Sunnyvale to labor together on the De Anza College campus. We started in November 2018 (see the info/fellowship then) to expand our presence on the campus beyond Thursday lunch time bible studies in the cafeteria.

• We understand that not many saints currently coming to Thursday lunch bible studies would also be able to come regularly for another time on campus. On the other hand, it might work for some other saints who are not able to come Thursday lunch time. And the same goes with the students, typically their classes are either M-W (or M-W-F) or TU-TH; also there are evening classes in De Anza.

• The first gathering each quarter will be oriented more for welcoming with meal & ice-breaking activities.

• If we are able to develop it into a regular gathering, it will be less a bible study time but more a complement to the Thursday time, say a singing+corporate fellowship time possibly like this:

  • (5:30-5:40 pm for buffering time for our own prep/kitchen staff delay..., or for few only available this early)

  • 5:40 pm - (6pm dinner) - 6:20 pm: for those earlier better for them, esp. those having classes at 6:30pm

    • 6pm - 7:20pm: for those later better for them.

Burdens and factors for this additional time:

• Broaden our reach to the students on campus.

  • Broaden the participation of the saints.

  • Broaden the experience of students who are with us (e.g. not easy to sing, nor to have a slightly larger group, in cafeteria).

  • A step further, while still on campus, toward home meetings and bringing them into the church life.

Reminder:

• Our time on campus should always be in the nature of "fishing" & "incubating", for contacting more new ones and for (patiently) warming up/building up trust & relatedness with them, and for forstering the taste of life.

• Our goal is NOT to bring more into the bible study (or Wednesday dinner), but to bring some, step by step patiently, into the church life.

• It is good to have appointments with your new ones outside of the on-campus time, in person or over the phone, regularly or occasionally.

• It is good to labor more closely together with some saints in the principle of 2s or 3s.
