Science in Year 4

By the end of Year 4, the children will revisit relevant learning from Year 1, 2 and 3 to support them with their learning in Year 4 so they continue to be successful scientists, and importantly, continue to build on knowledge and skills. They will learn and explore states of matter, animals including humans, living things and their habitats, sound and electricity. Below there is more detail about what will be learnt by the end of each topic and useful links to support your child to retain what they have learnt at home.

Examples of Science in Year 4

In Year 4, the children have worked incredibly hard to ensure we learn the vast range of scientific vocabulary needed to understand the different parts of the ear and how the ear works. They were required to research and use various sources to ensure they had a clear understanding of the way in which the human ear works.
