Science in Year 3
By the end of Year 3, the children will revisit relevant learning from Year 1 and 2 to support them with their learning in Year 3 so they continue to be successful scientists, and importantly, continue to build on knowledge and skills. They will learn and explore everyday materials, animals and humans, living things and their habitats and plants. Below there is more detail about what will be learnt by the end of each topic and useful links to support your child to retain what they have learnt at home.

Explore with Explorify at home! Explorify created a bank of very useful resources for explaining key scientific concepts at home during lockdown and these are still available for parents to use at home. https://explorify.wellcome.ac.uk/teaching-support/whats-new/explorify-during-school-closures
Examples of Science in Year 3
Experiment Success: Writing up and evaluating results; ensuring they conduct a fair test and ensuring the children include variables means they always think like scientists when they conduct experiments in class.
