My role at Hylands is to support our students and families to ensure that any barriers either social or economic are overcome so that students can achieve personal and academic excellence. This is through brokering outside support as well as our own in school initiatives for example Breakfast Club. 

We cannot imagine how difficult it must be for child refugees arriving in the UK from war-torn countries. Creating an environment in school where these vulnerable young people feel welcomed and comfortable requires strategic planning and a commitment to inclusivity.
