'New Literatures in English' are the literatures that evolved from lands that once didn't speak English but due to colonisation have picked up the language over a period of time. They often portray the life of the natives before and after colonisation, which includes themes such as oppression, racism, exploitation, identity crisis, etc. The culture of the natives is successfully displayed through this literature. It also brings forth the new variations in English adopted by different lands, which are quite peculiar as compared to British English.
