Here's how I would analyze my overall performance through the course:
My strengths: Maintaining the learners’ focus in class and explaining theoretical aspects with clarity.
My weaknesses: Use of formal language and sticking to time constraints.
Opportunities: Exploring new methods of teaching and understanding what is best for the learners.
Challenges: Overcoming anxiety before/while teaching and ensuring the maximum understanding of the given topic by the learners.
Feedback from peers:
According to the feedback from the learners, every single one of them had one thing to say in common, that I had done a good job with explaining the topic, as I had felt would be my forte. Almost all of the feedback was positive, with some saying I had used the medium well, and others commenting that my presentation was clear and concise. One of the learners suggested that I could have ended the flipped classroom video with another activity, which makes perfect sense as it would help in putting a full stop to the topic.
How I would score myself, the class, the professor and the course:
My performance: 07/10 (lots of room for improvement)
The class: 09/10 (extremely patient, encouraging and understanding)
The course: 09/10 (a highly interesting and informative course)
The teacher: 09/10 (a great guide, always pushing us to do better and exposing us to everything that's out there)
The course as a whole:
I must admit, as per my career plans as of now, this course will perhaps be the most important for me. I never knew there were so many ways of teaching and more importantly, of teaching in a fun and safe manner. I learnt a lot from my professor and my classmates, all of who have shown exceptional creativity and ingenuity. I hope I get the opportunity to put this course to good use.
