California CattleWomen - CCW Memorial Scholarship

The Memorial Scholarship was started in 1962 by Solano-Napa Cowbelles with the goal to set up a state program that would improve public relations for our industry while assisting worthy collegiate students in their educational pursuits related to our industry.
Eligibility:
The recipient of the CCW Memorial Scholarship must be a graduate of a California High School
When filing the application, the student must have a junior, senior or graduate student standing
Must be a full-time student with a minimum of 12 units
Applicants must be pursing an agricultural course of study or an agricultural related course of study.
Applicant overall GPA must be a minimum of 3.0
Applications must be received by April 1st of the current year.
No student may receive the scholarship more than one time.
Chosen recipients must be able to provide their social security number and student ID number plus the information for the school finance or payment receipt department to the California Cattlewomen, Inc. prior to funds being dispersed. Scholarship funds will only be sent to the student’s educational institution of enrollment.

Submit a summary of any honors received, community service work, participation in extracurricular activities, and/or work experience.

Every year, DFA of California rewards deserving students with scholarships for their undergraduate studies. We created the scholarship foundation to help students interested in food safety and quality degrees become the next generation of professionals our industry needs. Italian Catholic Federation

Each spring, the Italian Catholic Federation receives nearly 200 applications for its yearly scholarship awards. Applications are received from students in public as well as Catholic high schools in California, Nevada and Illinois.
To apply, students must achieve a total cumulative GPA (3½ years) of at least 3.2 and meet one of the following:
Are Roman Catholic and of Italian Descent and live within the Roman Catholic Dioceses of California, Illinois and Nevada, only where Branches of the Federation are established.
Are Roman Catholic but need not be of Italian Descent or live where Branches of the Federation are established if either Roman Catholic parent, guardian or grandparent is a member of the “Italian Catholic Federation.”
First year scholarships in the amount of $400 will be awarded to approximately 150 applicants.

Merced Mariposa Cattlemen's Association Scholarship

REQUIREMENTS:
Applicant must be a resident of Merced or Mariposa Counties or an active member or child of an active member of the Merced-Mariposa Cattlemen’s Association who does not live in Merced or Mariposa Counties.
Students must plan a career in an agricultural field and have a major which reflects that including study within Career and Technical Education programs.
A personal interview may be requested. You will be contacted so that a meeting can be arranged with the scholarship committee.
Must have maintained a cumulative GPA of 2.5.
Application must be delivered to a committee member or postmarked by April 1. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. Students may add supplemental pages to the application as needed.

Women in Mining - California Chapter Scholarship

WOMEN IN MINING (WIM) is a nationwide organization comprised of individuals employed in, associated with, or interested in mineral education and the mining industry. Women in Mining is dedicated to educating students, teachers, and the general public about the importance of minerals in our daily lives.
Those committed to obtaining an education leading to a degree through a course of study related to mining, geology, engineering, or environmental studies are encouraged to review these WIM California Chapter scholarship guidelines for eligibility requirements and to submit their application for consideration.
SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS AND GUIDELINES:
Women in Mining, California Chapter, seeks scholarship candidates who possess a commitment to obtain an education leading to a degree through a course of study related to mining, geology, engineering, or environmental studies. Applicants must be at least a senior in high school or currently enrolled full time in college. Applicant must currently maintain a 3.0 or higher grade point average. The successful scholarship finalists must provide proof of full-time enrollment in secondary education prior to receiving the award. The scholarship grant shall be applied toward the cost of tuition and/or course expenses as selected by the recipient, the amount not to exceed the scholarship grant.
This scholarship is for California Residents only, they must be a U.S. Citizen, and may attend a College or University outside California.

CAASFEP Scholarship

The purpose of the scholarship program is to financially support post-secondary education for ten qualifying high school seniors attending their first year of college with a $5,000 contribution to their tuition costs.
ELIGIBILITY:
High school students who are on track to graduate by the conclusion of the 2023-24 academic year and demonstrate a financial need are eligible to apply for the CAASFEP scholarship.
Financial need will be determined by eligibility for the free or reduced lunch program at the school (as indicated in the SIS, not to be confused with benefiting from the Universal Meals program) or qualifying as Socio-economically Disadvantaged (SED).
The principal or counselor will certify eligibility for one of these programs on the application.
In addition, the applicant must be enrolled in a public school and must be sponsored be a CAASFEP member.

California Groundwater Association Scholarship

The application period is February 1 to April 5 of each year.
The applicant must be a California resident, provide a 500-word essay about their chosen field of study, and meet eligibility requirements (see below).
Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:
Applications for groundwater related scholarships will be accepted from any person pursuing a major course of study in groundwater.
Applications for general field of study scholarships will be accepted from any person who has a family affiliation with a member of the California Groundwater Association (including employees of business members).
Applicant must be a California resident and must show proof of current admission or entry acceptance at an educational institution within 6 months of scholarship award.
Grade point average to enter and retain eligibility shall be that grade point average required by the educational institution in its scholarship program.
Applicants shall provide a 500 word essay demonstrating their interest in ground water technology or their chosen field of study.
Applications will be judged by the CGA Scholarship Committee which is appointed by the Board of Directors annually.
Funds are given to the institution's scholarship fund in the recipient’s name.

California Alarm Association Youth Scholarship

Dellavale Soil Science Scholarship
Application Deadline: April 15th
The purpose of the Dellavalle Scholarship is to encourage high school students to pursue careers in soil science. A $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to a California high school senior who plans to pursue a degree in a soil-science related field. In addition the scholarship recipient will receive their first year of membership to ASA, CSSA, SSSA as an undergraduate for free. Selection will be based on leadership qualities and future plans for a soil science related career. The successful recipient will also have the option to be considered for an internship or part-time employment with Dellavalle Laboratory while an undergraduate. The scholarship is supported by the Nat and Ann Dellavalle Scholarship Fund through the Agronomic Science Foundation and administered by the Soil Science Society of America.
Eligibility:
Open to any student currently residing in California and enrolled as a senior at a California high school, with preference given to students attending school in the service area of Dellavalle Laboratory (San Joaquin Valley).

Festa dos Agricultores Em Louvor a Santo Antao will award $500 to Eight qualified applicants who are graduating seniors for an accredited high school. The scholarships will be awarded to the qualifying applicants with the best scholastic records, pursuing a major in Agriculture. Should tie situations occur, extra-curricular activities will be considered by the scholarship committee. Fresno Fiber Arts Guild Legacy Scholarship

The Fresno FiberArts Guild is pleased to offer a $1,000 scholarship to a deserving student interested in fiber-related arts.
The 2024-25 Fresno FiberArts Guild Legacy Scholarship is extended to students with a demonstrated interest in the fiber arts.
Qualifications and Information:
Eligible applicants include high school graduating seniors, college undergraduates and graduate students.
Eligible applicants must:
Enroll no later than Fall 2024 at an accredited college or university in a fiber-related course of study.
Verification of enrollment will be required for the terms of the scholarship.
Focus on fiber as an art medium. Fiber arts is a broad field and includes a range of majors regarding accessories, marketing, textiles, fabric styling, fashion design, jewelry design, production management, visual presentation and exhibition design and more.
Identify the role and relationship with the applicant’s mentor (one-on-one teaching) played in nurturing the applicant’s fiber art interests.
Explain how the scholarship will be used and help meet the recipient’s goals.
Two (2) letters of recommendation must accompany each completed application submitted to the Scholarship Committee. One letter must be from a mentor (or representative) who has supported/taught the applicant some form of fiber art.
Complete and submit detailed answers to each part of the Scholarship Guidelines as incomplete applications will not be considered.
All applications and additional materials/portfolio must be received by April 23, 2024 to receive consideration for the scholarship.
The winner will be introduced to the membership at the Fresno Fiber Arts General Meeting scheduled for September 21, 2024. In addition, the scholarship winner will receive a one year membership in the Fresno FiberArts Guild. The Chowchilla District Chamber of Commerce offers two scholarships for CUHS Seniors.
The Chamber gives these scholarships based on the excellence demonstrated in Business as well as Agriculture; the student does not have to go into that field necessarily, but it does give a higher score.

Student enrolled in full-time studies who plans to attend is a 2 or 4 year degree at an accredited college or university in the U.S..

Application Basic Requirements:
Applicant must be a resident of Madera County.
Applicant must be a graduating senior intending to enroll in a community college to complete a certificate, apprentice program or a trade school.
Applicant must have a background in agriculture. Participation in agriculture based extra-curricular activities qualifies. Examples include, but are not limited to 4-H, FFA.
Applicant must be pursuing a career in an agriculturally related field, such as Welding, Diesel Equipment Technology, Veterinary Technician, Heavy Equipment Operator (union/non-union), Compact Power Equipment, Mechanized Agriculture Technology, or any other pathway related to the agricultural industry.
Applicant must include a high school transcript with calculated, cumulative GPA to date.
Applicant must provide a photo with their application for publicity purposes.
Applicant must provide proof of attendance to receive funding. Deadline to provide proof is no later than October 31st of each year.

The student or someone in the student’s immediate family must have derived the majority of his or her income from agriculture.
Financial need
GPA and extracurricular activities indicative of potential for success.
In addition, selection is based on a combination of college board test scores, an essay and references.
A complete application package is essential for consideration.
Students must complete the confidential application which includes:
Personal and financial information – including the most recent tax return (students under 21 must attach their parents’ tax returns).
A written essay discussing personal and agricultural background.
Transcripts of grades and college board test scores.
Two references from teachers, school administrators, employers or community organizers.

Leland Palomares Scholarship
Application Deadline: April 30th
The Leland Palomares Scholarship was created to help students obtain a college degree. Scholarships are available to 2024 Graduating High School Seniors. Applicants must plan to enroll in a Full-Time accredited, not-for-profit, college or university, during the FALL of 2024. The finalists this year may be invited to a short interview or video chat.
Owen Saling Scholarship - Sons of the American Legion Scholarship

We are accepting applications for Owen Saling Sons of the American Legion, Squadron 148 scholarships. The scholarship is available to all students who have a family member that is either active or has been honorably discharged from any branch of the armed forces.
To apply for this scholarship you must complete the following:
● Maintain a GPA of at least 2.5 average
● Complete the attached application
● Submit a one page typewritten essay describing the importance of your family member’s service to our country and what patriotism means to you.
