Tips & Tricks
Request your letters of recommendation early in the year (to beat the traffic of others requesting at the same time) from a CUHSD Staff Member (minimum 2) (Admin, Counselor, Teacher, Coach, etc.) and a Community Member (1) (Pastor, Club Leader, Youth Sports Coach, etc.). Most Scholarships require 2-3 letters of recommendation from both School Employees and a Community Member.
Create a folder in your Google Drive labeled "Scholarships" and share it with your personal email so that you always have access after graduation.
Create subfolders within the Scholarships Folder labeled "Essays & Personal Statement", "Transcripts", "Applications", and "Letters of Rec".
Within your Applications Folder, create additional subfolders within it for each month. Example: August, September, October, etc.
After creating your folders for each month, as you collect applications you are going to apply for, start dropping them in the folder that correlates with their specified due dates. If you want to go the extra mile, you can create a folder for each scholarship within that due date month that will hold all documents required for submission to that specific scholarship.
Add due dates to your Google Calendar. Keep yourself organized, up to date, and on schedule. You can always turn in your scholarship application early, just as long as you know the due date.
