Grants and awards carried out and given to the faculty are Vision Mission Objectives-based, cost-effective and in compliance with applicable requirements set forth in external legislations as complemented by CHMSU’s internal policies.
The goal of the College of Fisheries relies upon the cohesive members of the faculty working beyond the minimum requirements. Well-prepared, fully engaged faculty represent the most important strength the college has in times of change. The skills, knowledge, creativity, innovation, dedication and motivation they bring to their work are the core of the institution's competitive and strategic advantage. The faculty members of the College of Fisheries have to become change leaders in bringing out innovation in the teaching pedagogy and they have to become successful researchers and Extension practitioners. They have to become high contributors inside the classroom and in the community. From developing students to creating an environment for learning and imbibing a community development culture rich in understanding local community values, the faculty members of the College of Fisheries continue to forge local and international linkages and partnerships. The goal of faculty development in the College of Fisheries is to empower, equip and strengthen the teachers in discharging their professional responsibilities and in developing the society contributing to human kind at large.
Separating, reducing, reusing, recycling and composting are good options for managing school waste. The faculty of the College of Fisheries participated and advocated the need to find ways to get rid of school waste with the least negative effects on the environment.

IFERP’s International Conference on Multidisciplinary Approaches in Technology and Social Development (ICMATSD) is conducted in Carlos Hilado Memorial State College, Philippines. These event will provide a tremendous opportunity for authors, participants, and intellectuals to communicate effectively with one another and express their skills and understanding of technical innovations.

Trident - Journal of Fisheries and Social Development (TRIDENT-JOFSD) is a per/technical reviewed journal published annually by the Research and Development Unit of the College of Fisheries of Carlos Hilado Memorial State College in Enclaro, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental Philippines. It publishes research or project summaries, information or data on research activities of the college, and invited reviews and viewpoints on timely subjects.

Two (2) Faculty Members of College of Fisheries together with ANGELA GRACE SINGSON received the BEST PRESENTSER and BSET PAPER AWARDS for the paper titled "Community Structure of the Intertidal Seagrass in Linaon, Cauayan, Negros Occidental, Philippines: A Rapid Assessment". Angela Grace Singson was in her Seniors years in the BS Fisheries program when she presented and won in the competition.
Research utilization refers to “making decisions concerning policy and planning and management. The concept of research utilization in the College of Fisheries focuses on impact of the study. The faculty members focuses on what researchers want their stakeholders receive from their research results, how they want they make use of the ideas, information, or products resulting from the faculty research, and how people are actually using the results. In LGUs, research utilization includes results of the research in policy making and knowledge-driven decisions to be done by the local governments.
