Wirelessly "Mirror" your Laptop to the VSVB
Windows Connect for teachers (your teacher laptop to your ViewSonic, does not work with Chromebooks and Macs)
Step 1: Open the Connect app on the computer (ViewSonic) you want to project TO by clicking on the Windows icon in the lower left and finding it in the list or typing Connect in the search bar.
Note: If it does not show up on your ViewSonic, you may need to install it by typing Software Center in the bottom left search bar, select it by clicking on it to open it. Once it opens, click on“Windows Connect App – Wireless Display”. Then click Install.
Step 2: On the computer you want to project FROM, press the Windows key and P key to bring up the Project menu. Windows + K works, too, but automatically goes to duplicate without the option to extend.
Step 3: Choose Duplicate or Extend (Duplicate means the screen is the same as your laptop, Extend gives you a second screen.)
Then click “Connect to a wireless display” at the bottom and click the name of the device you want to project TO (such as a ViewSonic ViewBoard) on the next screen. The blue Connect screen on your ViewSonic will show the name of your ViewSonic. Choose that in the list.
Step 4: Once connected, you can check the box to “Allow mouse, keyboard, touch, and pen input from this device.” [If using a ViewBoard and you want to interact, click this.]
If you want to hide the information bar at the top, click the push pin on the right side of the bar.
When ready to disconnect, click Disconnect or go back to Step 2 (Windows + P) and choose Disconnect.
[You can also enable a PIN to block others from connecting so you aren’t disconnected. In the search, type Projection Settings and chose to “Require PIN for pairing”.]
MyViewBoard Display
On the newer boards, this is built in and on the ViewBoard screen. It is also a Windows program that you can install on your ViewBoard if you don’t want to switch inputs. Download myViewBoard display then skip to step 2. (The file is called setup.msi. Click it, click Next, Next, Install, Yes to allow changes, then Finish.
Step 1: Press the home button on the front bottom right of your ViewSonic ViewBoard.
Step 2: Tap on the Display icon if on your home screen or open the app in Windows in the myViewBoard Display folder.
Step 3: A screen will pop up with a web address myViewBoard.com/display, a display code (which stays consistent for your board), and a One Time Password that automatically resets every 30 seconds.
This works on Chromebooks, Windows computers, and Macs, though on Macs, a pop-up blocker in Safari may cause problems so we recommend you use Chrome.
Step 1: Plug in your adapter to the back of your projector (or ViewSonic). One end goes into the HDMI (if more than 1 HDMI port, either will work) and the other into USB. You’ll see an image on your screen “Ready to connect.”
Step 2: On your computer, press the Windows key and P key to bring up the Project menu.
Step 3: Choose Duplicate or Extend (Duplicate means the screen is the same as your laptop, Extend gives you a second screen.) Then click “Connect to a wireless display” at the bottom and choose your adapter on the next screen.
Step 4: Once connected, you can check the box to “Allow mouse, keyboard, touch, and pen input from this device.” [If using a ViewBoard and you want to interact with it, click this.]
If you want to hide the information bar at the top, click the push pin on the right side of the bar. When ready to disconnect, click Disconnect or go back to Step 2 (Windows + P) and choose Disconnect.
