Volunteer Opportunities Abound in the CCA Library
Choose from the following duties.
- Mending books once per week. This much-valued position involves gluing and taping, affixing book covers, and typing labels.
- Shelving books. This requires a conscientious person who is detail oriented with a good sense of order. Alphabetizing skills and a knowledge of decimal places is required. When books are not available for shelving, then ordering books on the shelf is always needed.
- Thematic bulletin boards and book displays. Pinterest moms will enjoy this activity and can share it with another volunteer.
- Collections display coordinator for one or two locked display cases. Ads in the CCA Eagle newsletter can be used to find parties willing to display their collections during the year. Themes can vary including Legos toys, Star Wars memorabilia or Native American art, just to name a few.
- Processing new library books. This is a periodic duty that includes neatly affixing labels and pockets, stamping and applying book covers.
- Working the Scholastic Book Fair in October.
There is always work to be done. Training dates and times will be advertised in the CCA Eagle after the beginning of the school year.
