About Tim
Tim stands out as exceptional on many levels, but especially in his commitment to bass performance. Tim was elected this year to serve as our Orchestra President by his peers. In addition to Orchestra, he has been an active officer and member in our Tri-M Music Honors Chapter. As a sophomore, Tim was accepted as principal bass in the North Carolina Honors Orchestra and Eastern Regional Orchestras. He also performed in the NAfME All National Honors Ensemble in 2018. Tim is a recipient of the student concerto competitions with both the Duke University Strings Solo Competition and the Chapel Hill Philharmonic Solo Competition. After performing these competitive local accomplishments, he auditioned and was accepted into the National Youth Orchestra for the summer of 2019 which toured across Europe. Tim was also selected as a finalist in the International Society of Bassists Competition in Spring of 2019. He was recently named one of the 2020 National YoungArts winners and will be attending Rice University this fall.
