Chattahoochee-Flint RESA provides paraprofessional training and professional learning opportunities designed to support the knowledge and skills needed for success in today’s classrooms. Training is offered both at CF RESA and onsite in districts and includes topics such as instructional support strategies, classroom management, student engagement, behavior supports, and working effectively with teachers and students.
To qualify for a Georgia Paraprofessional Certificate, applicants must meet one of the following requirements established by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC):
Hold an Associate’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution; or
Have completed 60 semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) of college coursework; or
Pass the Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE) Paraprofessional Assessment.
Additional requirements include employment by a Georgia school system and recommendation by the employing district.
