Undocumented students and parents should understand that tuition at private colleges is generally more expensive than public institutions.  Because of this, it is important for undocumented students to apply for as many private and institutional-based scholarships as possible.  Many times these institutional scholarships are considered merit based and are provided by colleges and universities based on a student’s academic achievement in high school and on college entrance tests (i.e. SAT/ACT).
