Early Kindergarten Eligibility

• Submit Your Child’s Information
  To begin the process for early kindergarten eligibility, please submit your child’s information via the link below.  Per the Early Kindergarten Eligibility Policy, requests for early entrance must be received by June 1st. 

What Happens Next

• Screening Appointment
  After submission, a member of the Chariho staff will contact you to schedule a screening appointment. Screenings will take place at one of the elementary schools.

• Screening Results
  The results of the screening will not be available immediately. You will receive notification regarding your child’s status for early kindergarten entry by July 31, 2025.

• If Your Child Is Accepted and Currently Enrolled in a Chariho Preschool Program:
  If your child is accepted and is currently enrolled in one of Chariho’s preschool programs, please complete the Intention to Enroll in Kindergarten e-form. Log into your Parent PowerSchool account at https://ps.chariho.k12.ri.us/public. Click the Kindergarten Intention 2025-2026 School Year eform and complete. If you have difficulty accessing the eForm or with your parent PowerSchool account, please contact Dorothy Fitzgerald at dorothy.fitzgerald@chariho.k12.ri.us.

• If Your Child Is Accepted and Not Currently Enrolled in a Chariho Preschool Program:
  If your child is accepted and is not currently enrolled in one of Chariho’s preschool programs, please complete the pre-registration process for kindergarten and fulfill all registration requirements. You can find the link to the Kindergarten Pre-Registration Form 2025-2026 SY.
