**School placement is dependent on the District Map and parents will be notified by the Elementary School** Notifications will start the first week in June
Registration Process
**DO NOT PRE-REGISTER YOUR STUDENT IF THEY HAVE BEEN ENROLLED IN OUR DISTRICT PREVIOUSLY**
Previously enrolled students should contact Central Registration (registration@chariho.k12.ri.us) to complete registration.
Complete Elementary Pre-Registration Form - Click below
Once the Pre-Registration form is submitted and approved, you will receive an email within 1-3 days, containing information on how to complete the registration. (Please check your spam folder).
This email will include a unique Web ID and Web Access code. These codes will associate your student to your Parent PowerSchool account. This letter includes directions on how to create a Parent PowerSchool Account and must be done using an internet browser (not the app).
If you already have a PowerSchool account:
Log in and go to Account Preferences
Click on Add Student and use the Web ID and Access code provided in your letter to link your new student
REGISTRATIONS ARE NOT COMPLETE UNTIL ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS ARE RECEIVED and ALL REGISTRATIONS FORMS ARE COMPLETED.
After creating an account
Log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal at https://ps.chariho.k12.ri.us/public
Click “Forms” from the left side menu
Click on Enrollment tab
Complete eforms:
New Student Registration
New Student Health Form
New Student Home Language Survey
New Student Transportation
New Student Residency Survey
New Student Previous Enrollments (If Applicable)
Upload the necessary documents
Upload the Required documents into PowerSchool
Locator Card - Obtained at Charlestown, Richmond or Hopkinton Town Hall
Student Birth Certificate/Adoption Decree
Immunization/Physical Exam
Copy of Parent/Guardian licenses
Voluntary Transfers
Submit a Chariho Voluntary Transfer Form
Please Note: New Registrations must be complete prior to the approval of Voluntary Transfer Request
Please be informed that, if approved, "exceptions" for student placement in school outside of the designated boundary school are made according to the following guidelines that are listed in the Chariho Regional District School Policy Voluntary Transfer Policy
Decisions are made on or about August 15th of the school year.
It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to provide transportation to and from an "out of district school".
* Continued approval of an out of district placement is contingent upon good attendance. Repeated absences or tardiness will result in immediate revocation of approval to ensure that your child is able to attend school regularly.
