Annual Compliance Information Submission
As part of the Home Instruction Policy, it is required that the Assistant Superintendent, or designee, annually invites approved homeschooling participants to a meeting to review their child's academic progress, collect the Statement of Attendance and Compliance, and discuss the instructional plan for the upcoming school year.
Streamlined Submission Process:
In response to parent feedback, we are implementing a more efficient process for submitting your compliance information. We are using Google Forms, which allows you to easily complete and submit the required forms. Once your form is submitted, you will receive a completed Statement of Attendance and Compliance and Evidence of Academic Progress via email for your records.
You may choose to communicate this information and submit your documentation directly to the Assistant Superintendent without attending the meeting. Failure to provide the materials/information listed above may result in the recommendation that approval for home instruction be rescinded.
Instead of filling out the Google Forms, you may receive paper copies of the forms by contacting the Assistant Superintendent's office. The completed forms can then be submitted to the Assistant Superintendent's office electronically, by mail or in person at 455A Switch Road, Wood River Junction, RI 02894. Other Ways to Demonstrate Academic Progress:
To demonstrate academic progress, other than completing the Evidence of Academic Progress form, you may provide various forms of documentation, such as:
Report cards (a sample report card is available via google form in the Streamlined Submission Process section) If you are working with an online platform, please email the report card produced by that platform to Kimberly.sullivan@chariho.k12.ri.us
Written evaluations,
Participation in local and state assessments,
Dated work samples, and/or
Other similar evaluative tools.
Important Deadlines:
All required forms and supporting documentation must be submitted to the Assistant Superintendent’s office, no later than June 30th. If you will not have completed your instruction time by this date, please notify us in advance.
