If your child is unable to connect, please send their teacher a message on Phidias. Form tutors will not excuse an absence due to faulty connection when informed by the student.

Lessons and resources will be posted as normal on Google Classroom/Seesaw. Please check for any missed assignments when your connection is restored.

My child is absent. What should I do?

Please report any absences as normal via Phidias. The procedure is as follows:

Go to your child’s Phidias profile;
1. Click on ‘community’;
2. Click on ‘Polls’;
3. Click on “Add Record” either on the poll called “Absences/Ausencias”
4. Complete the required information.

In this file: Notifying Absence or Late Arrival, you will find the images of the steps to follow.

  • If the reason for the absence was due to illness, please ensure that the CGB doctor (doctor@cgb.edu.co) has been informed so that she is able to report the case to the Ministry of Health as required.

  • If the reason is not due to illness then they are expected to catch up on the missed learning.

  • If the reason is that they need more guidance on how to access our learning platform, please inform their class teacher.

An app or program is not working. What should I do?

Please see the contact chart to decide who is best suited to support you.

Someone in my house has flu-like symptoms. What should I do?

Please contact CGB's doctor, Dr. Andrea Guzmán, immediately so she can support you. Her e-mail address is: doctor@cgb.edu.co

This all feels too much for me to handle! Who can I speak to?

At CGB we know that you are parents, and not teachers. We are all working hard to ensure that everyone stays on top of their own, and each other's, emotional and mental well-being. We have a team of experts from our Counselling and Emotional Guidance (CEG) Department who are on hand to speak with you as and when you need. Simply drop any of them an e-mail and they will set up an online meeting with you to listen and offer support as necessary.

I want my child to start at CGB. Who do I speak with?

If you are interested in your child starting school at CGB, please contact admissions@cgb.edu.co and Fiorella Rocha will give you more information on our admissions process. Although we might not be able to be at school, everything is running smoothly - just virtually. We are all looking forward to meeting you! You can also access our website for more information.

When will CGB go back to life as usual at school?

For the moment it is hard to say. We are taking this a day at a time. As soon as we are given the green light from the government we will begin our "Back to School Protocols" to ensure that everything has been disinfected thoroughly and that everything is ready for children and staff to return. We promise to give at least 48 hours notice before the school gates are re-opened. Until then we will continue under Code 4 of our CGB Emergency Preparedness Matrix for a potential pandemic.

My child has way too much screen time, and I need more ideas! Who can help me?

The CGB community is rich with ideas. We have a shared space in which parents can post ideas of activities that they have tried and tested. This will be as good as you want it to be - so go wild!

I want to say thank you to someone in the CGB community. What is the best way of doing that?

Saying thank you to someone is always a way to motivate them! You can either reach out to them directly, or you can publish a comment to our padlet. THANK YOU for wanting to say "THANK YOU"!
