The Food Service
The Food Service
Colegio Gran Bretaña provides daily snacks and lunches for all students. The school aims to encourage healthy eating by providing a nutritionally balanced menu. A vegetarian menu is available. The daily menu is sent home at the start of each month. It is the school's policy to encourage students to eat and try various foods. This is promoted by modeling and discussion rather than by imposition. Students are not allowed to bring their own packed lunches to school.
FS/KS1 children receive two snacks and lunch. The remainder of the students receive a morning snack and a mid-day lunch.
The daily menu is sent home at the start of each month and can be found posted in the Need to Read News.

Colegio Gran Bretaña is a nut-free school!
Peanut allergy is the second most common food allergy in children and this is increasing. Statistics show that it now occurs in 1 in 50 children.
We are aware that some students in our school have severe nut allergies. Those students, if they come in contact with a nut product, can suffer life-threatening consequences. It can easily be contracted from a simple handshake or a student’s table who may have just eaten something with nuts in it. We ask that you do not send any food for your child containing the following:
Peanut butter
Nutella
Chocolates
Muesli Bars
Baklava
Any form of nuts
Nougat
Biscuits
Turkish delights
Cakes
Any products that have written on them “May contain traces of nuts”
Please help us in providing a nut-free school and assisting those parents who have children who may have a life-threatening reaction.
