Performing Arts
The Performing arts program at CGB is a very special one. In preschool, the children learn traditional and international songs and rounds. In Primary and Secondary, the students have the option of playing the instrument of their choice, dance or drama.
The schedule will soon be shared.
At the KS1 level, the children learn traditional and international songs and rounds, they play musical games and songs that help them learn the letters of the alphabet as well as the numbers. They get in touch with the world of sound and music and we expect it will be a very important part of their lives. We teach them the love of music and they realize that music is fun, this way, they develop their ability to sing melodies in good intonation and beat and they get ready to learn a musical instrument when they move on to Y3.
In KS2, the students have the option of playing the instrument of their choice under the guidance of a specialist in that area. They can choose to play the violin, recorder, guitar, ukulele, piano or Stomp. They can also choose to sing in the school choir and learn drama or dance.
At the KS3 level, they can choose to play Ethnic percussion instruments, sing in the choir or take up the guitar, which is very popular at this age level. They can also learn piano, saxophone, trumpet, flute, clarinet, dance or drama. They can also learn how to clap or play everyday objects in a very special Stomp class.
During Christmas and at the end of the year they are expected to perform in the Xmas and Summer concerts.
Each student will have to choose the area of performing arts of their own interest. (Options will be sent to parents in August)
Parents will have the opportunity to watch their children perform at the Christmas Concert and at the End of Year Concert in which every student takes part flooding the atmosphere with evidence of a type of magic only found in music, drama, and dance.
