All 2nd - 5th Grade CFBISD Students will have access to an account in Typing Club. There, they will be assigned a grade level course to practice their keyboarding skills. The curriculum overview can be found in the Elementary Curriculum Canvas Course.

Teachers can click on their grade level for additional information regarding the lessons in their Grade level course and goals.ย
Grade Level Courses & Additional Courses
Each grade level is assigned a designated grade level course. We encourage teachers to have students complete these lessons during the designated keyboarding practice time at school.ย
If teachers wish to assign additional courses, they can do so following these directions. These lessons can be completed outside of the recommended 7 minutes of the grade level course or when students have completed the grade level course with all 5 starsย
View Student Progress in Grade Level Course
Go to Classes > Click on your class (the title) > Reports Tap > Scroll down to "Course Progress Graph" and click on View Report. Here you can see each students progress with each lesson and their mastery. Encourage students to master each lesson before moving on to the next one. There should be a continuous blue streak across their name.
After students complete the first 3 sections of their grade level course, they should attempt the Mid Year Checkpoint between Nov 3, 2025 - Jan 16, 2026.
Use this video to introduce students to the test. The Checkpoint will appear under their grade level course card OR after clicking on the button "More Tests."ย
Reminders:
โ The MOY Test is a 5 min test that can be retaken multiple times during the window
๐ Students DO NOT need to pass; the goals for the MOY are the same as their End of Year test
โ Encourage accuracy over speed (use the backspace key to correct mistakes)
๐ Encourage students to continue working on their Grade Level course to increase their speed over time to meet pass their EOY Typing Test
After your students complete an attempt in the Mid Year Checkpoint, you can use this guide to view their results if you wish.ย
There are no certificates issued for the Mid Year Test.
After students complete most of their grade level typing course, they should have the necessary skills and practice to be successful on their EOY Test. The testing window dates will be shared each year by the Digital Learning Team.
Once the testing window opens, the EOY tests will appear under their grade level course card OR after click on the blue button "More Tests"
Students need to click on "Start" to begin their test.
โ Students have 5 minutes to accurately type as much as possible from a set text.ย
โ Students are encouraged to use the backspace key to correct mistakes.ย
โธ Students can also use the pause button at the top to take a break if needed.
๐ The test can be retaken multiple times if they did not meet their EOY goal

After your students complete an attempt in the EOY Year Typing Test, you can use this guide to view their results from your Typing Club account in your teacher dashboard.
โญ *Optional* Decide on a date for the class to complete their EOY Typing Club test. Once students complete the test, they can click on the Typing Test Card to view their best attempt. See below for a sample template for documentation if needed.

๐ Digital certificates are issued to students who meet the goal; To print:
Log into your Typing Club Account.
Click on Typing Tests (select your test)
Click on the Results Tab.
Scroll down, select your students and click on the "print certificates" button.
