Multilingual students and teachers should adjust their language settings on their devices
Review translation tools such as Snap&Read, Google Translate, and Immersive Reader (in Canvas).
Students will need to make some adjustments to the Keyboard Input language to be able to efficiently type in another language.

*Students can select the US Extended Keyboard for typing efficiently in English and Spanish.
Chrome Extensions can be found in Google Chrome on the top right corner and can be used for several uses including translating, text to speech, simplification of vocabulary, and more. See below for descriptions of how the following extensions can help users.
This extension will provide translation opportunities within Chrome. The website can translate text, images, documents and sites.
Select to Speak
(accessibility feature on Chromebooks)
Will read text in:
Google docs, slides, forms, etc.
PDFs
Canvas pages, assignments, quizzes, discussions, modules, announcements.
Students must enable the accessibility features on their Chromebook. See below for instructions.
Students can click on the immersive reader in a page in Canvas to:
Hear the text read aloud
Adjust text size, spacing, colors
Translate the text / have the translation read aloud
Identify syllables & parts of speech
Use a picture dictionary
Students can use Select to Speak to read text:
Safari and Chrome web pages
Google docs, slides, forms, etc. (in edit mode)
PDFs
Canvas pages, assignments, quizzes, discussions, modules, announcements.
Users can enable this tool by clicking on:
Settings > Accessibility > Spoken Content > Speak Selection

This allows for live captions in a selected language to be displayed during a live presentation.
