My first experience with education took place when I attended my grandmother's preschool, Pooh's Place. I distinctly remember it and how much I enjoyed it! After attending Pooh's Place, I attended Allen East Local Schools until I graduated in 2016. In addition to the traditional public school education, I learned a great deal about leadership from involvement in numerous clubs. During my high school years, I accumulated over 1,500 volunteer service hours helping in a variety of classrooms. My favorite classroom to visit was Mrs. Clum's first grade classroom. My time spent in Mrs. Clum's classroom helped me realize my passion for teaching. I consider the education I received from her just as valuable, if not more valuable than the standard education I gained from my classes.
I am currently in my third year studying Early Childhood Education (+4/5th grade endorsement). I love my classes and the knowledge I am gaining. The field experiences I have completed have been thoroughly informative and enlightening. I am on track to graduate in the spring of 2020 and am looking forward to building my own classroom and meeting my first students! I love to make my lessons fun and interactive! In a perfect classroom, my students would have so much fun learning that they would not realize they are learning at all. My favorite subjects to teach are phonics and math!
